Job description

Purpose of the job:

To lead and focus the HR department in the delivery of comprehensive HR service to the organisation. To proactively advice on HR policies and best practices engendering a people management culture that will guarantee industrial harmony necessary for optimal productivity with maximal returns to the various stakeholders.

ROLE TO PLAY:

Would be required to support the various teams with policies and processes that would help in the day to day management of their people. One of the key requirements is the development of the various unit heads into first level HR Managers.

Job responsibilities

• Overall lead and supervision of entire HR functions in the organization.
• Provide strong functional leadership and support in the implementation of HR policy across the organisation.
• Ensure the deployment of best in class recruitment initiatives for the sustainability of the company
• Carry out regular manpower audits and prepare annual manpower forecast for the purpose of staffing and optimization of existing workforce.
• Deploy and implement a competency driven performance management system.
• Ensure the adaptation of an effective reward and compensation framework that rewards performance and recognizes excellence.
• Maintenance of a disciplined and productive work environment.
• Advice and implement a process that will promote the Talent and Knowledge management initiatives of the company.
• Ensure industrial harmony by promoting good employee/industrial relations practices.
• Responsible for overall HR strategy and operating plans inclusive of its communication to the rest of the business.
• Manage the welfare initiatives of the company including health and wellness programs in line with extant laws and policies.
• Lead in the formulation of policies in the organization to ensure consistency with the company’s employee value proposition.
• Liaise with the Business units for proper staffing of the various business units and where required provide line managers with advice on conditions of service ( as contained in the published Employee Handbook), employee relations matters, grievance resolution processes taking into cognizance the extant labour law provisions on such issues and overall company policies.
• Ensures the implementation of a comprehensive on-boarding (induction) programme capable of promoting brand equity.
• Advice and Implement policies that will drive diversity and all-inclusiveness in the company.
• Promote compliance issues and ensure cordial relations with statutory agencies like Ministry of Employment, ITF, NSITF.
• Lead in the development of, implementation and upgrading of comprehensive people management strategy and plans while ensuring alignment with the company’s business strategy and key business objectives.
• Lead in the preparation and management of HR annual budget.
• Assist with other functions that may be assigned from time to time by management.
